The endless and increasingly rapid stream of new technologies, products, and industry trends makes it very difficult to get a foothold on the bigger picture. In hindsight we frequently examine the costs and benefits of each individual leap forward, but we rarely view our path from a perspective sufficiently high-level to understand where we’re headed. How is our world really going to change with all that is currently happening in the Information Age? We need to lay down some groundwork. Something to act as an anchor and provide context, so that when Google releases its next seemingly game-changing web technology, or when Apple gives us the next gadget to drool over, we can see where it all fits in.
