Like it or not, “blog” has actually become a catch-all term for various types of online content. Many of the elements that once characterized the majority of blogs are still largely present but no longer unifying characteristics now that the medium has become mainstream and more and more people and organizations are starting and maintaining blogs. At this point, a blog is simply an online channel, and the nature and form of the programming on that channel are entirely at the discretion of the channel’s owner(s).
